Jack Fruit

this year we did not get much jack fruit. itz grown much in my village cheruvathany. i could have brought it in my vehicle. but to clean the vehicle after the transportation is difficult, so i did not bother to bring to my home at trichur.
here my wife beena like jack fruit too much.
but the problem she makes syrup, cake and gelly sort of other byproducts with it and the smell in the kitchen last for long and it makes some times head ache to me.
here only she eats it. i might eat for a day or two.
the seed is used for cooking in our village adding tender mango. my mother used to make this delicious curry. but here my wife did not want to make as she does not like that way of cooking.
after taking out the fruit the remaining parts is given to cattle. but here in the city home as there is no cow or other animals we just throw away.
while i went for a wedding engagement few days ago, beena told me that there are plenty of jack fruit in a tree the back side of my home. and she wanted to cut few fruits and keep in my car. but i refused as the sticky sort of material while cutting the fruit will stick all over and once it is spread in the upholstry etc. it can never be cleaned or removed.
she said she will pack it well in the polythene bag and keep it safely in the car. but i did not agree.
poor lady she might have cursed this husband.
we have planted a tree in our home at trichur two years ago, but no fruits yet. but the neigbouring house there is a tree with full of fruits.
i shall buy few fruits from mercy and give to her. if itz from the next home there is no head ache of transportation and mess up the car etc.
what ever may be the risk and difficulties of transportation the fruit is very tasty !!!!!!!!!!

SOOTHING BREEZE

this poem is sent by one of my orkut friend "raindrops" who is from kannur, kerala. now doing masters in computers and networking at bangalore.

soothing breeze is blowing with fuss
singing river is frothing with joy
twittering bird is feeding her kid
squirrels are churing with its fellows
but somewhere someone something
a small, a little a something
there's something
missing in my eyes
a turn to my bleeding heart
i realize its chillness its stresses
a turn to my tiry eyes
i feel its lonliness
i feel its thirst
i feel its urge
wandering in reach of the blue eyes
a reaching for the caring eyes the blue eyes
miles to go and miles to go for it
even then i go for him
filled with doubts,filled with ease
full of love full of affection
stranger with harsh saying
saying all about him
both of extremities-harsh and nice
to which to stick to
to which to stick to
still a soothing touch to the one
still a greeny feeling to the one
still a caring love to the one
to the oneto the one
i seek for
to the one i long for
its only then i understand my thought
my ideas go for the one whom i seek for
its only then i understand my longing
the sharpness of my eyes
the everlasting bunch of love
but...i enjoy my curiosity
i enjoy my search
eventhough it is a melancholy
a sweet, soothing melancholy

SWINE FLU [പന്നിപ്പനി]

Dear Friends

Swine flu in India is spreading like wildfire, taking the toll to six.
Officials say there are currently more than 800 cases of the H1N1 flu
strain in India. Governments from all around the world are finding
ways to combat this deadly disease. The symptoms of this disease are
high fever, aches, fatigue, coughing or breathing difficulties,
headaches, vomitting and diarrhoea. So what can you do to protect
yourself? Stay calm and practice these 10 effective prevention tips.

1. Wash your hands frequently

Use antibacterial soaps to cleanse your hands. Wash them often, at
least 15 seconds and rinse with running water ( Branch Managers are
requested to ensure availability of antibacterial soaps in the
toilets)

2. Get enough sleep

Try to get 8 hours of good sleep every night to keep your immune
system in top flu-fighting shape.

3. Keep hydrated and stay in ventilated rooms.

Drink 8 to10 glasses of water each day to flush toxins from your
system and maintain good moisture and mucous production in your
sinuses. Avoid use of airconditioners and permit as much of air
circulation as possible.

4. Boost your immune system

Keeping your body strong, nourished, and ready to fight infection is
important in flu prevention. So stick with whole grains, colorful
vegetables, and vitamin-rich fruits.

5. Keep informed

The government is taking necessary steps to prevent the pandemic and
periodically release guidelines to keep the pandemic away. Please make
sure to keep up to date on the information and act in a calm manner.

6. Avoid alcohol

Apart from being a mood depressant, alcohol is an immune suppressant
that can actually decrease your resistance to viral infections like
swine flu. So stay away from alcoholic drinks so that your immune
system may be strong.

7. Be physically active

Moderate exercise can support the immune system by increasing
circulation and oxygenating the body. For example brisk walking for
30-40 minutes 3-4 times a week will significantly perk up your
immunity.

8. Keep away from sick people

Flu virus spreads when particles dispersed into the air through a
cough or sneeze reach someone else’s nose. So if you have to be
around someone who is sick, try to stay a few feet away from them and
especially, avoid physical contact.

9. Know when to get help

Consult your doctor if you have a cough and fever and follow their
instructions, including taking medicine as prescribed.

10. Avoid crowded areas

Try to avoid unnecessary trips outside. Moreover, avoid touching your
eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way

hello keerthana my darling !

i have been thinking to write some thing about my grand kid keerthana. keerthana is 8 years old and schooling at amrita vidyalayam, ayyanthole, trichur. her father is dr rakesh who is a dentist. dr rakesh has clinic at edappal. her mother is jaisha who is a home maker. keerthana has a little sister mayookha.

once i was at her home just for a family visit with my spouse beenamma and my children rakhi and jayesh. her granma told me that keerthana has some picturs [pencil sketch] and she wants that displayed in my media channel.

i said itz not possible due to some technical issues. but i can do it in a blog and it was published once. and keerthana [chinchu] was very happy.

this morning [19th july 09] she was at my home, kokkalai, trichur to see the sarees we purchased for my daugher in law sethulakshmy. while her parents and my sweet heart beenamma and son jayesh was busy with displaying the sarees, these kids came to me. they wanted to see the fotos in my system.

while they were enjoying the photos, the little one was found talking to me. other wise she is very naughty and hardly come to my. but today she came to and was watching the fotos sitting on my lap.

while looking the photos, she was talking like any thing. i was surprised really with her talk. normally girls do talk more than boys. the little one we call chinnu and the elder one chinju.

their mother jaisha hails from guruvayoor. the home lord krishana [guruvayoorappan]. she looks like as if she has a chinese blend. even i felt the same to my daughter in law sethu. perhaps itz due to my poor vision.

now letz come back to keerthana.

keerthana likes my daughter rakhi too much. usually she never gives any thing to anybody while she is at her home. but she is fond of giving things to my dautgher rakhi. i dont know why she likes only her. some times she felt rakhi is also little girl like her. rakhi is aged 29 but she still looks like a school level girl. many of my friends used to ask her "ethraam classilaa patikkane? [ഏത് ക്ലാസ്സിലാ മോള് പഠിക്കണേ?]. thatz about rakhi. rakhi is a professional archtect b arch, married and settled at cochin.

again coming back to keerthana.
the drawing i had displayed in my blog "voice of trichur" was seen by her parents and grandma and by her class mates and she was found very happy.

today i took some fotos of her and her parents and few video clips of keerthana. it shall be posted in this blog.

so, i am introducing keerthana - my grand kid here.

video clips shall be posted shortly
